Cashmere

Cashmere is one of my favorite fibers to spin.  Similar to cotton in technique.  But significantly more of a challenge to the materials budget.

This piece is a natural color of cashmere.  Not brown, not really ecru – more of a beige-y gray.

Dyeing the fibers before spinning creates interesting color changes in the yarns.

Some areas of the weaving appear darker than others as you can see in these two photos of the same piece.
